This photo was taken during a recent afternoon visit to ASCI which sits atop WISP mountain at Deep Creek Lake in McHenry,Md. Please see second photo and more text below.

ASCI is a manmade course where thrill-seekers can ride in a raft over several twists and turns of regulated rapids.

The photo at the top of this post was take just as a raft was going over the first large drop in the course. At left another raft full of riders looks on.

The second image was taken seconds before the same raft took the plunge. Each raft is lead by a qualified guide and the guide was coaching the riders before the raft went backwards into the mini waterfall.
