This panorama shows the waterway directly above the Little Tolliver Falls at Swallow Falls State Park in Garrett County, Md. (please see more text and second photo below)

Little Tolliver Falls and its surrounds are my favorite part of the park. The area is on the far end of the park so it typically is not as crowded.

The falls are small but very pretty. I had wanted to get a shot of the falls on this winter trip but the stone walkway leading down to the falls was covered with ice and I was by myself so I stuck with the rushing water above the falls where I shot this panorama which is a merger of several vertical photos.

Swallow Falls State Park is a great place to photograph in the summer as well as in the winter, though if you are there in the icy season, approach the walk ways with great caution. Wearing boots with spike especially designed for walking on ice is a very good idea when exploring the park during the winter.

Below is photo of a path further from Little Tolliver that passes by some dramatic ice formations. I really wanted forge thru this path and considered doing so.

Upon further  reflection, I realized that since the path was covered with solid ice , slipping on it would send me and my equipment down a very steep ravine which probably would have resulted in a quick conclusion to my photo blogging career, not to mention my life.
