In addition to the wonderful flowers one of the reasons I enjoy spending so much time with my camera at Green Spring Gardens in Fairfax County is the great job the park staff and volunteers have done of landscaping and adding points of interest among the gardens. I always tell the photographers that I tutor Green Spring is a great place to practice your framing skills, as shown in the photo above taken through a sculpture. (please see second photo below)
If you want a framing exercise, use the historic house at Green Spring as a focal point and see how many different angles and frames you can find as you walk around the park. Even the time of year adds to the variety as these two photos taken from also the same evanescent vantage point demonstrate.
