There are a lot of people loving summer at Deep Creek Lake especially around the Independence Day weekend. These photos were taken during the second annual Deep Creek Lake Boat parade held the day after the fourth. (see more text and second photo below)

The top photo is of the historic boat The Swan that sets sail for special events at Deep Creek Lake. It is perhaps the most recognizable vessel on the lake. Here its captain is making sure The Swan has just the right amount of space to clear a bridge that runs over the lake.
Each entrant in the boat parade was given a number and parade watchers had the opportunity to vote for the best “decorated” boat
at several waterfront bars along the way. This entry employed a very patriotic theme.
