Catching Small Details in a Commuter Parking Lot

To find out what this is and where it was taken, please see below.

I photographed this object in a commuter rail parking lot in Virginia.

I had just completed photographing commuters boarding a regional railway for illustrations I was gathering for a local community guide. I was heading for my car when I noticed a bright white and brown feather lying on the ground. It was a big feather as feathers go and a morning shower left its bristles covered with raindrops. I stopped to take a closer look.

Taking a close look at flowers can offer some amazing surprises. Please check out my blog post There a Frog in that Flower.

I was drawn to the scene as the round rain drops created a compelling contrast to the finely etched lines of the feather.

This photo was taken with a 60MM macro lens.

Thanks so much for dropping by today, Rob
