Every time I shoot photos in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington D.C., at some point I become transfixed on this building on M Street.
I am drawn to the colors and to this door on the second floor that leads to nothing but air. I am guessing maybe there was a overhang at some point but there is not one now.
This building has character and like others in Georgetown, it is very old. It also looks like it has seen better days. When I took this photo at least one window pane had left the premises. Despite all of this, the red and blue paint on the building remains bright and brilliant.
I was also playing with another version of the image that did not include the ground floor, see below. Any one have any preferences on this? I would be interested to get a second, third or fourth opinion. Thanks for reading!
Color contrast maybe. It makes me look too.
