A couple of summers ago I was driving home through my neighborhood when I noticed a family of deer eating in one of my neighbor’s yards in the middle of the day.
Deer sightings in the D.C. suburbs are not unusual but seeing babies, at least in my neck of the woods, is not commonplace, especially in broad daylight.
So, I drove home, got my camera and walked back to where I had seen the deer, about a quarter mile from our house, and the deer were still there eating away.
They did not seem phased by my presence as I stood as far away as I could without disturbing them with a 200MM lens and I ended up getting this photo. It was a fun afternoon.
