The Leaning Tree in Ogunquit, Maine

web leaning tree in maine rob paine

I took this photo a few years ago while walking along the Marginal Way on the Atlantic Coast in Ogunquit, Maine.

The Marginal Way is the most picturesque walk I have strolled. The paved walk includes incredible views and lots of colorful flowers and this house shown above. The way is particularly beautiful around sunrise.

The official Marginal Way Website describes the site this way: “The Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine is one of New England’s only paved, public shoreline footpaths. This vacationland jewel, which spans a little more than a mile along a spectacular coast, connects Perkins Cove to Ogunquit Beach.”

I was fascinated by the way this tree  tilted so close to this house. It is amazing that the tree had survived so many storms that have rummaged thru the area over the years.
