For me, the best time of the year to visit Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland is in the fall, more specifically during the Autumn Glory Festival. Each year the colors are usually wonderful but during some years the colors are more magnificent and that was definitely the case last year when I was in the right place at the right time to capture the above photo. I am very proud to present this photo for sale. (please see more below)
This spot next to the lake is a fascinating location in that the light bounces off the trees and other structures near the road so you get some great back and front lighting during certain parts of the day. You would think this is an HDR image but it was taken with one exposure.
A 16×20 photo print of this image (it can be ordered with or without type) sells for $50 dollars including shipping. The photo is available in other sizes and formats, even including canvas wraps. I am also selling a very high quality nearly 4×6 size color magnet of this photo for $7 each including postage.
If you are interested in ordering a print or anything else from my collection, please email me at robpaine@deepcreekimages.com
Finally, I still have a few copies of my book “A Place Called Deep Creek Lake” which features a good number of fall scenes as well as photos taken during other times of the year at the lake for $31 dollars each (including postage) if you mention you saw it here on the blog and order it before Sept. 15.

You can also purchase some of my fall postcards at Arrowhead Market, Bear Creek Traders and at the Discovery Center at Deep Creek Lake State Park and at Swallow Falls State Park. All great places in and around the lake to visit if you are there to buy my cards or not!
This year the Autumn Glory festival is celebrating its 50th year and it should be a fantastic time.
Thanks for visiting my site today and I hope you enjoy the coming fall, especially if you are visiting the Deep Creek Lake Area.
