
I have taken many photos of flags over the years but this one means the most to me. I took this image in Little Washington, Va., a few days after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The light was beautiful on that fall afternoon and the design and order of this historic home framed the flag perfectly. (see second photo below)
My second favorite flag photo was this one (below) taken of a a National Guard jet flyover during a Veteran’s Day ceremony in Virginia. A lot of people assume this was Photoshopped but actually it was just a result on being in the right place at the right time and a lot of dumb luck. The flag was gigantic and I was standing directly under the flag pole with a 24mm lens.
