Favorite Posts of 2016 : Visiting Swallow Falls State Park

This post ran in June and I have updated it with some winter photos! It was one of the most viewed posts of 2016 on ISBAA. Enjoy!

There is nothing more invigorating than to visit Swallow Falls State Park on a warm summer day and stand next to the crashing 53-foot tall Muddy Creek Falls.

Muddy Creek is one of three waterfalls in this state park in Garrett County. The Youghiogheny River flows along the park’s borders. The park also features more than 60 wooded campsites in addition to picnicking areas. For more information on the park, please visit the park’s website. (see second photo below)

Little Tolliver Falls (below) located on the opposite end of the park is a favorite of photographers, including that of yours truly.

The falls are also a great place to visit during the winter, and dogs are welcome too!
