One of the best photo trips I ever went on was driving from one side of Montana to the other about six years ago while I worked for The A.P.
My goal was to visit every AP member newspaper photo staff in the state. It was a great experience and I saw some great sites along my drive and met some terrific people.
I shot this photo one morning while traveling thru Western Montana. I saw this horse grazing on a hillside so I pulled over to photograph it.
Montana is a photographers paradise and I cannot wait until my next trip to the state.
To see another photo taken during one of my trips, please check out Reflection in St. Louis.
Thanks for dropping by, Rob.
What a sight! Totally Americana. I love the Internet, but find it so sad that paper news, and magazines are a dying breed, and traveling photo-journalist along with it. I think I missed my calling and am sad that I couldn’t find a way to make it to college and photographic-journalism in time for its heyday. I would have loved to be photo journalist back in the 70’s and early 80’s. My life was different and lead me on a different path then, but hind-sight is always 20-20 and now…the digital age is in and I’m still not in a place to be the “traveling, right on the spot, war, event photographer”.
🙂 Thankfully you’re there and I appreciate all the time, hours, and inconvenience you endeavor for your readership.
