2014 Year in Review : One of My Favorite Moments- The Westernport Wall

This photo taken of the crowd reacting to a fallen cyclist during the Westernport Wall portion of the 2014 Savageman was one of my favorite moments of this past year. Please see more text and second photo below.

I had photographed the swimming portion of this triathlon in Deep Creek Lake in years past but had wanted to shoot the bikers climbing the wall. The lake and the wall are a good distance and several checkpoints apart so unless you have a helicopter covering both spots in the same race can be a challenge. This fall I made the trek to Westernport MD and was fairly happy with the results. In addition to running on this blog, the lead photo of this post was later picked up and ran on the front of the sport section of the Wilmington (NC) Star News.
