Weekly Photo Challenge : Letters – Chincoteague, Va.

ROB PAINE LETTERSI think the great challenge when composing a photo with signs or lettering is to not let the graphic elements overtake the entire image. (Please see more text below)

I shot this image  a couple of years ago at a park in Chincoteague, Va. The clouds, the  coloring the sign and the bird just seemed to gel for  me.

The sign definitely overtakes the image which is not typically the result I am seeking but for me it works here because the bird almost looks like he is part of the sign.

After a few minutes the bird did eventually fly away!

    Good advice! I’ll try to remember that when I go to shoot lettering or signs. This image has a lot of impact this way.
