2013 Year in Review : Sea – Myrtle Beach (S.C.)

Rob Paine Sea Before the new year starts, I thought it would be fun to look back on the most viewed and most “liked” posts on this blog.

For some of these Year in Review stories, I may add other photos or additional notes that have similar subject matter but did not run in the particular post the first time out.

I will also provide a link to the original version.

For those of you who missed these posts the first time out, I hope you will enjoy them. For those long timers I hope you will enjoy taking a second look. (please see more photos and text below)

I will also be running new posts as warranted so please keep an eye on the ISBAA dailies.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made this blog a success.

This post originally ran as part of a Weekly Challenge,  Sept. 1, 2013 Please click here Sea-Myrtle Beach, to see this post in its original form.

Myrtle Beach, S.C., often referred to as “The Grand Strand” is one of my favorite resorts by the sea. The great thing about Myrtle is it offers both busy beaches with loads to do and more quiet areas which tend to be a little more peaceful. It has something for everyone, whether young or old, single or part of a family.

I shot the photo above from a pier of a family silhouetted as they strolled hand in hand on the beach.

This scene appeals to me personally as it reminds me of all the great times I had with my parents when I was younger visiting the seashore. (Please see below for additional photos and text)

The photo below was actually taken while I was walking back from beach bar to my hotel. This lone swimmer was wading below the clouds and the moon in the late afternoon. I thought it was a really cool scene.

Myrtle Beach is one of my “go to” beach at all times. We like the quieter North Myrtle Beach. 🙂
