Nemacolin Woodlands Resort located in Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands is one of the most luxurious resorts in the country.

In addition to having a first class luxury hotel, Nemacolin is the site of among other things a display of antique cars, a beautiful golf course and several exotic animals.
Listing what Nemacolin has to offer would probably would take more space than listing what it does not have. Where would you start- you will see bears, buffalo, mountain goats, a piece of the Berlin Wall, a full service casino, pet hotel, you get the idea.
I shot these photos during a couple of visits to the area along with a photo I took that appeared in an earlier post of beautiful swan.
All the animals appear to be well cared for and are kept very safe, living in protected yet spacious habitats. If you are traveling through Western Md. or Western Pa., take a detour up Route 40 to see this fascinating place.

I live near Pittsburgh and have traveled Rt 40 to Frostburg many, many times to visit Grandma. We passed Nemacolin, but have never experienced it. Have heard there were black bears in the area, but never saw one. Love these photos, and looking forward to exploring the rest of your blog!
