Weekly Challenge: Foreshadow – Redneck Dayz

rob paine mud at redneck days

Each year the Oakland-Mountain Park (MD) Lions Club hosts Redneck Dayz. These photos were taken at the 2012 event held at Broadford Lake Park in Oakland, Md. One of the highlights is the Mud Pit Jump. Taking this plunge foreshadows being bathed in mud, so it is great for reaction shots, as this shot above illustrates. Its a unique event to say the least. When I shoot events like this, I try to fill up my frame as much as I can with faces and capture the emotion. I wish I had used a little looser lens on the photo above, but I think it still gets the point across.

Enjoy! If you are interested, next years Redneck Dayz is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2014. Oakland is located outside of Deep Creek Lake.
