This weekend the Washington D.C. Area, along with most of the East Coast of the United States experienced its first official heat wave of the summer.
So, in the spirit of getting everyone to think cool thoughts, I pulled this photo out of my oldies vault. I took it during the infamous “Snowmageddon” of February 2010. on a snow filled street in Northern Virginia.
Local sidewalks were overrun with snow as were a good deal of our streets for several days after the storm. I had great admiration for this woman who braved this slippery road with her dog.
In the photo below, a cardinal looks for cover in a bird feeder that is covered with nearly a foot of snow during the same storm.
Lets hope for cooler days ahead!
