Weekly Photo Challenge : Threshold – Pig at Meadowlark Gardens

rob paine meadowlark pig It is that splendid time of year when the flowers begin to bloom at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Va. (please see more text below)

Located outside the main visitors center is the park’s Cancer Treatment Garden which the features plants used in, or researched for, the treatment of cancer.

In and around the garden are some very eye-catching sculptures including this pig. The garden is somewhat of a threshold that your walk thru before entering  the rest of the beautiful park.

I was drawn to the contrast of the wet green leaves and the bluish pig but I think what makes this photo is the bug (a cricket I think) that landed on the pigs ear seen in the upper right hand corner.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave some time to enjoy spring this weekend! Rob

The cricket also uses the pig as a threshold into the great beyond. Great photo. 😀
