A Year Ago This Week on ISBAA : Early Morning on the National Mall and A Tufted Titmouse

mall in morning

Washington has some great vantage points. One of the best is probably the view from the top step of the Lincoln Memorial.

I took this photo after photographing the cherry blossoms earlier this year. It was an early day for me. Left home about 5 AM so I would be at the Jefferson Memorial by sunrise. Afterwords I walked over to the Lincoln Memorial for some additional photos.

I like this photo for its graphic appeal. The Reflecting Pool on the mall always adds some interest to a photo, with the Washington Monument and the tippy top of the U.S. Capitol seen in the water. Since this photo was taken, the scaffolding has been removed and the Washington  Monument has reopened to the public. (please see more below) Read More

A couple of bird pictures to start Your Week…

web hummerAs the hummingbird feeders have been put away as the hummers begun their annual migration south, thought it would be a good time to post a final hummingbird photo for the season.

I look forward to their return next spring.  Fortunately, there are other birds who will stick around most feeders in the Mid Atlantic in the mean time. (please see below for second photo.)

Please don’t forget to vote for your favorite photo posted on this blog from last week at What is your Favorite Photo?
