
One of favorite assignments while working in local newspapers was photographing someone called the “Azalea Man.” The Azalea Man was an elderly gentleman who lived on a quiet suburban street and tended to a spectacular backyard full of azalea bushes. I was wowed by azaleas then and I still am wowed during the part of spring when the azaleas in our yard are in full bloom. (please see second photo below)

These bushes are beautiful as a whole but the bushes flowers take on an even more stunning look when photographed with a macro lens.
