My Final Frames of The Historic Barn on Mayhew Inn Road in Garrett County, MD

I reported on the demise of the historic barn on Mayhew Inn Road near Oakland, Md., earlier this year. I did not include the most up to date photos of the now collapsed and broken barn, maybe due to time constraints, maybe because I really did not want to see the grand structure in shambles. During a visit to Deep Creek Lake, Md., last month I paid my final respects with camera in hand to a building that is  so many people’s favorite barn. ( please see more photos below)

Even in its final stages of collapse, the barn’s stone foundation still stands mostly intact, a testament to the way things were built years ago.
