Lorton Reformatory : A Shadow of its Former Self

I thought this would be good image to go with this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge : Shadowed.

This photo was taken during a  tour of the Old Lorton Reformatory in Lorton, Va. It was a brilliantly lit morning and many of the buildings in the  former prison cast some impressive shadows on the tall walls that surrounded this complex that once housed prisoners from Washington D.C.
