Here is another photo I shot during my 90 minute romp at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, Va., this past Sunday.
This image shows the high level of landscape design on display at the park. There are many areas of Green Spring where different colored plants seemed to cascade in front of my viewfinder. This photo was taken with a longer lens to compress the scene.
I purposely imposed a very low depth of field so the plants in the background provide nice color but to not add distracting clutter.
These type of photos don’t always jump out at you. They require looking beyond what is directly in front of you, taking in the entire scene and looking for patterns and subtleties.
