Applying a black backdrop to flower photos can really add drama to your photos. Whether you are in the studio, like where the photo above was taken, or in the field, it is easy to set up the small background to clean up the clutter and make your flower (s) standout! Your dark background can be something as simple and small as a dark blue or black piece of felt, velvet or other type of cloth. You can increase your shutter speed to further darken the background. The light for both of these photos was provided by one strobe in a soft box.
