Its is 19 degrees in Northern Virginia the morning, a good reminder that the first day of winter is tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 21. We all see different things during the cold season and I captured this image several winters ago at Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland. It is not something I see too often. 

Sun circles or solar circles are beautiful sites though for me its hard to do justice to one with a photo.

Seeing things like this is a reminder that you always should have a camera with you. You never know when a circle  around the sun or a rainbow will pop up.
