I shot this photo in our front yard a few years ago. It is of flowers blooming in a hanging planter.

I liked the symmetry of this scene as well as the color in it. The flowers in this planter seemed to be blooming on several levels which  added some depth to the image.

I fooled around with it in Photoshop and the filters did a nice job of clarifying the flowers’ patterns which added a good deal of texture to the photo.

The result reminds me of the bursts of fireworks  you see towards the end of an Independence Day show.
