This building is often called the gas station church as it sits atop a gas station in Rosslyn, Va., right across the river from the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C.
The church has been here for about three decades and in that time a city has grown around it.
Rosslyn, located in Arlington County, Va., does not have the same height restrictions on buildings as D.C. does, so the steeple of the gas station church has been dwarfed by glass building shown in the background.
I was drawn to the contrast in architecture in this seen on the very bright day I took this shot.
